Admissions Counselor

Summary:  The Admissions Counselor, in cooperation with the Doctor of Ministry Staff, serves the ATS community as an ambassador of the institution, recruiting qualified and called students to study in the Doctor of Ministry program.  The Admissions Counselor will aid the Director of the Doctor of Ministry program by performing administrative tasks such as mailing, data input, managing phone contact with applicants and prospective students, as well as other duties assigned.  The Admissions Counselor will also travel to selected conferences to recruit prospective students.      

Responsibilities:

  • Communicate effectively the ATS doctoral program philosophy, and admissions and academic requirements.
  • Maintain contact and follow up inquiries with applicants and prospective students.
  • Manage inquiry and applicant files.
  • Give counsel regarding various doctoral track options pertaining to the career goals of applicants.
  • Attend selected conferences to promote ATS programs.
  • Attend campus events appropriate for recruiting doctoral students.

Qualifications:

  • Master’s degree preferred, ATS alumni encouraged to apply.
  • Knowledge of Microsoft Office, including Word, Access, Excel.
  • Knowledge of Datatel’s Enrollment Management System a plus.
  • Strong interpersonal and organizational skills, high energy level, positive attitude, and excellent writing and speaking skills.
  • Ability to work very well as part of a team, as well as individually.
  • Ability to represent the seminary in a Christian and professional manner.
