The Certificate Programs offer training in specialized areas of ministry for the new or advanced person in ministry. Each program is offered in a contextualized format allowing you to maximize your integration of the information gained in lectures and classmate interaction. These are non-degree, non-credit earning programs and are therefore exempt from the admission requirements of traditional students in our graduate programs.
The Ohio Christian Education Association in partnership with Ashland Theological Seminary provides a special track of workshops at their annual conference in Akron, Ohio. Workshops are made up of five mini-courses taught by seminary professors/instructors.

Ashland Seminary and CoachNet Global have launched a partnership in Christian coaching designed to train coaches and coaching skills for all levels. Participants can simply attend a two day seminar or complete a two year specialized concentration in Christian coaching with a Masters of Arts in Practical Theology (and a variety of options in between).
This Certificate in Coaching equips a new coach with everything you’ll need to effectively coach others toward their visions–in a congregation, an outside ministry opportunity, a missional community or in another career. You can even leverage this certificate toward a new career of your own!
This certificate requires the completion of three core courses, and one complete phase of field work:
If you have completed CoachNet’s Standard Coach Training (or the equivalent from another coach training organization), you may request advanced standing which would then open the possibilities for replacing Coaching Fundamentals with Team Coaching. Two of the three courses can be taken simultaneously, but the third will have to be taken after the completion of courses 1 & 2.
If taking these classes for masters level credit, please apply through the Ashland Theological Seminary Diploma application process. If masters level credit is not anticipated, you can register for the classes through CoachNet Global.
*This certificate is designed to meet all requirements of the Associate Certified Coach credential as recognized by the International Coach Federation. An additional portfolio and application may be required to complete an ICF credential.
