City Gates Initiative

The gates of an ancient city served as much more than the entry points. Within the gates, elements of cultural influence – commerce, politics, religion, art, philosophy, law – blended together to create the unique identity of that city. Where godly people had influence in the gates, God was recognized in the city.

Ashland Theological Seminary is acting on a sense that God is specifically calling people to the workplace to be a part of a movement that will restore God's identity within our communities. We are awakening Christians within the "gates" of the workplace to the movement that is already underway and are activating and preparing them for a powerful role in it.
