A Christmas Reflection

Peace, hope and joy has come into the world . . .

In the midst of unprecedented times, pandemic, and mounting personal problems; peace, hope and joy has already come into the world through Christ Jesus. During the Christmas season we celebrate Jesus’ coming, the Savior of the world, a gracious gift from God the Father to all the world. It was a demonstration of God’s love for humanity. The prophet Isaiah declared that our deliverer “will be called: Wonderful Counselor, Mighty God, Everlasting Father, Prince of Peace. His government and its peace will never end.” (Isaiah 9:6, 7a) God’s plan for us is “for good and not disaster, to give us a future and a hope”. (Jeremiah 29:11)

I encourage you with these words: Jesus, during his earthly ministry, prepared his disciples for trials, troubling times, sorrows and future challenges. He inspired them with this counsel “… take heart, because I have overcome the world.” (John 16:33c) As the prince of peace, Jesus gave his disciples a gift “peace of mind and heart” which is available today to whosoever will receive Him! (John 14:27) The Messiah brought hope of an abundant life and an eternal future. (John 10:10; 11:25; 14:1-3) Know that Jesus brought joy into the world with intent for joy to overflow into the world through His followers. (John 15:11)

Whatever you desire or need in life’s journey, it’s in Christ Jesus. (John15:7) Christ is our source of peace, hope and joy, be a resource in the world of these virtues!

The Rev. Dr. Gregory Walker received his Master of Divinity in June of 2003 and earned a Doctor of Ministry in Transformation Leadership in December 2017 at Ashland Theological Seminary.
