Master of Arts (Biblical Studies)

Biblically faithful and historically grounded


The Master of Arts (Biblical Studies) is designed for students who wish to prepare themselves for further graduate studies in Old or New Testament studies, to teach foundational courses in Bible colleges or other denominational teaching positions, and to engage meaningfully in biblical research and writing.

Degree Learning Outcomes

Having completed the MA (Biblical Studies), students will be able to:

  • Demonstrate critical and faithful interpretation and responsible use of Scripture in appropriate ministry and professional settings.
  • Establish familiarity with critical methods of and approaches to interpretation as reflected in a variety of cultures and communities.
  • Demonstrate critical theological reflection that is biblically faithful, historically grounded, contextually relevant, and integrated with life and ministry.

Requirements for Graduation

Students earning the Master of Arts (Biblical Studies) degree must complete 55 credit hours with a minimum grade point average of 2.5 on a 4.0 grading scale.
