Crossover: A Real Conversation about Race

Description: Two pastors, one black and one white, share about their relationship and field raw questions on a sensitive subject, striving toward a level of love and understanding that you will not find on social media. This interactive time includes real time answers to questions from the audience.

Guest Speaker:  Pastor Bryndon Glass is a pastor, community leader, gifted teacher, and speaker. He the founder and Senior Pastor of The Shepherd’s Pasture for All Nations Church, SPAN Ministries. The outflow of his ministry includes birthing and participating in organizations that influence men, women, and children for the kingdom of God.  A lifelong learner, he is currently earning his Master of Arts in Historical and Theological Studies from Ashland Theological Seminary. Bryndon and his wife, Dr. Yvonne Glass, reside in Akron, Ohio with their four children: Bryndon II, Naomi, Alexis, and Analia. 

Guest Speaker:  Rick McKee is the lead pastor of Redemption Chapel in Stow, Ohio. With a passion for stories of redemption, RC is very welcoming to humble, messy sinners (like him). With a heart for racial reconciliation, Pastor Rick was honored to receive the Allies Award along with Pastor Bryndon Glass in 2016. Living in Kent with his wife (Shannon) and pit-mutt (Taco), they love occasional  visits from their adult children (Caleb & Madison). He enjoys kayaking, eating bacon, riding his motorcycle, and ticking off Pharisees.

Moderator:  Dr. Yvonne Glass is Assistant Professor at Ashland Theological Seminary and serves as Director of the Clinical Mental Health Counseling program.  Yvonne holds her doctorate from Kent State in Counselor Education & Supervision. She brings to the position over 15 yrs of clinical experience in various settings, including working within a school system, private practice, and professional advocacy. Her passions include facilitating the incorporation of faith into the counseling experience. Her studies examine how religiosity positively impacts the daily stressors of life.
