This course will explore the realm of human self-perception as informed by sacred poetry of the Hebrew Bible (principally drawing from the Book of Psalms) in conversation with material culture of the ancient world (drawing principally from the Flora Collection) and contemporary culture (drawing principally from intellectual and philosophical trends of the west).
