Do you feel drawn to pastoral care but picture yourself working outside of a typical church environment? Do you hunger to learn more Scripture and pass that knowledge on to others who need encouragement, comfort, and support? You may be receiving a call to chaplaincy.

Is the Master of Divinity (Chaplaincy) program right for me? If you want to…

  • Perform the pastoral, caregiver, and spiritual support roles of a chaplain in a military, institutional, or organizational setting
  • Work in chaplaincy for an employing institution that requires the MDiv degree
  • Form a missional vision of kingdom ministry within multi-cultural and multi-faith contexts

... then the Master of Divinity (Chaplaincy) program is right for you.

What to expect in the Master of Divinity (Chaplaincy) program:

  • 80 credit hours of coursework
  • One basic unit of Clinical Pastoral Education (CPE) at a setting of your choice
  • Fulfill educational requirements specified by the Association of Professional Chaplains (APC) for recognition as a Board Certified Chaplain (BCC)
  • Training in demonstrating critical and faithful interpretation and responsible use of Scripture in appropriate ministry and professional settings
  • Developing communal and personal disciplines that nourish Christian spiritual and moral formation
