Ashland is all about building community. With this in mind, we offer both residential and commuter housing options for our students.
For the residential experience, Ashland offers affordable housing at its Ashland, Ohio campus. One, two, and three bedroom apartments, as well as single-family houses are available for students to rent.

82 and 84 Samaritan Avenue are home to the Hoseck Apartments. These one or two bedroom units have a living room, dining room, air conditioning and free laundry shared by four apartments. The two bedroom units rent for $615 per month while the one bedrooms are $500 and the efficiency is $275 (not a full kitchen). All utilities are included in the rent, including internet.
At 80 Samaritan Avenue you will find the Holsinger Apartments. Holsinger includes 1 efficiency unit, 5 one-bedroom units and 1 three-bedroom unit. The building shares one laundry area. Each one bedroom unit rents for $500 per month, the three-bedroom is $610 and the efficiency is $275 (not a full kitchen). All utilities are included in the rent, including internet.
Mack Manor is an architecturally unique complex at 36 Samaritan Avenue. The four units share a laundry area and all electric is included. There are two efficiency apartments which rent for $400 per month, a one-bedroom renting for $500 per month and a two-bedroom for $615 per month. All utilities are included in the rent, including internet.
812 Center Street is located right in the historic district of Ashland. The stately home has been transformed to offer 3 one-bedroom apartments and a two bedroom apartment. Please call Auxiliary Services at AU at 419-289-5371 for more information on these apartments.
15 College Avenue, just one block from campus provides a great living environment for 4 single students or a large family. This house includes 1.5 baths, large dining and living areas and four private bedrooms. Laundry is in the basement. 31 and 33 College Avenue, one block from campus is a duplex. One side is a one bedroom and the other is a 2 bedroom. Utilities are not included in the rents. Please call Auxiliary Services at AU at 419-289-5371 for more information on these apartments.

The Mossey Building is located at 836 Center St. in the historic district of Ashland. This building is set up with a two bedroom apartment on the main level and then the second floor has 2 private bedrooms, common area, full bath and a full kitchen. The 3rd level has 2 more private bedrooms and a shared bath. All four private rooms share the one kitchen. All residents are required to complete a background check. To provide a safe living environment for our students and their families, all students (and spouses) applying for Seminary housing or at the request of the Office of Enrollment Management will be required to pay Viewpoint Screening for a background check service as a condition precedent to occupancy and/or enrollment. The background check will include the following information: Country Criminal – County of Residence, Residence History, and Nationwide Sexual Offender index.
When you go to the Viewpoint Screening website go to “Select School” and from the map, choose OHIO and find “Ashland Theological Seminary”. There are two packages to choose. Applicants who have lived in 1 or 2 counties in the past seven years should choose $16.00 package. If you have lived in three or more counties over the past seven years, choose the $29 package. Complete the simple application and select “Next” at the bottom of the page. Complete your payment information and submit the report. It is that simple. The Seminary reserves the right to deny occupancy, admission or revoke this contract based upon information received through the background security check.
Commuter students make up a vast majority of Ashland students. But sometimes you just don’t want to make that drive home after a night class. That is why we offer commuter lodging options.
Schmeidt Hall and the Rodkey Apartments each offer affordable, comfortable and convenient overnight housing for commuter students and guests of the Seminary. They offer two-bedroom apartments with two twin beds in each bedroom, one-bedroom apartments with two twin beds, and private one-bedroom apartments with a queen bed. Reservations can be made in advance for a one night stay or book one or more nights for the entire quarter.
Apartments include: Furnished living room with television and wireless internet; bedding/towels; equipped kitchen with appliances, coffee maker, toaster, dishes, utensils and cookware.
