Dr. Claudia Sadler-Gerhardt is a Licensed Professional Clinical Counselor with Supervisory endorsement in the state of Ohio, and a Registered Nurse. She graduated from ATS  Counseling program in 2000, and from the University of Akron with a Ph.D. in Counselor Education and Supervision, (2007) and has been a counselor and Counselor Educator for over 19 years. She was a Professor of Counseling in the Clinical Mental Health Counseling program at Ashland Seminary/Ashland University from 2007-2017.  She has taught as an Adjunct Professor at both ATS and the University of Akron. Claudia is an active member of ACA, ACES, ASERVIC, AADA, as well as OCA and related Ohio divisions, and the Association for Death Education and Counseling. She served on the Executive Board of the Ohio Counseling Association for 2 years. She is the 2018-19 Past President of ASERVIC. She is a member of Chi Sigma Iota honorary, and was Chapter Faculty Advisor of Alpha Tau Sigma for three years. She formerly facilitated grief support groups and volunteered as a Clinical Advisory Board member of the GriefCare Place in Stow, OH. She serves on the ACA/AADA Grief Counseling Competencies Task Force. She is a frequent presenter on the national, regional, state, and local levels. Her clinical and research areas include Counselor Education and Supervision; spirituality; grief, loss, & end of life; chronic illness; and aging. She and her husband, Jon, are splitting their time between Ohio and Texas. She enjoys hiking, reading, knitting, and their Boxer.
