Dr. Hunt serves as an Associate Pastor at New Beginnings Community Church, and an adjunct in Biblical Studies for several universities and seminaries, including Ashland. She got my PhD in New Testament in 2017 from the University of Wales Trinity St. David where she studied John 18:28–19:22 under the guidance of Catrin Williams. She is a member of the Society for Biblical Literature, the Institute for Biblical Research, and the British New Testament Society. Dr. Hunt is particularly interested in social identity theory and its value for both interpretation and application. On a more personal note, Laura was not raised in a Christian home, but Jesus walked into her life when she was 17 and has been following him ever since. She has been married for 40 years to Doug, her high school sweetheart. They have five children, aged 39 to 25, whom she homeschooled for about 25 years. Laura spent 10 years in Belgium when she was growing up. Laura is not a chocoholic, but she does love good breads and good cheese—the coarser the better for the first, and the stronger the better for the second. She enjoys love languages—learned French and some Latin and Dutch when she was young, and Greek, some Hebrew and German more recently. She feels she teaches best when she can pour out the pieces of a subject in the middle of the classroom and invite students to put the puzzle together with her.
