Student Accessibility Center

We Are Prepared to Meet Your Learning Needs

If you have documentation from a medical doctor, psychologist, or psychiatrist for specific learning and/or health handicaps, you may receive services through the Student Accessibility Center. Short-term conditions are not considered a disability, however, if your impairment is in remission but substantially limits a major life activity when active, your condition is considered a disability.

As a student, you will need to submit documentation supporting your need for accommodations. Your documentation will need to clearly state the functional limitations of your disability and how it impacts your learning. Your accommodations must be reasonable and must minimize the effect of your disability on learning without lowering or modifying academic standards. In order to receive accommodations, you will need to submit documentation concerning your disability to the Student Accessibility Center in the Claremont Building located at 930 Claremont Ave. Ashland, Ohio 44805. You can contact them at 419.289.5904. Please contact them to file documentation, ask questions, or request an ADA handbook.

If you have specific physical, psychiatric, or learning disabilities that require accommodations, please let your professors know early in the semester (preferably the first week) so your learning needs can be appropriately met.
