Master's Degrees

Ashland Theological Seminary offers a range of degree programs designed to prepare leaders in a number of ministry applications. Our degrees are diverse in scope, but share a single focus: the centrality of Christ and the Scriptures. Each of our degree programs prioritizes an intimate relationship with Christ and emphasizes dependence on the Holy Spirit for effective ministry. You can choose from a variety of flexible and online study options to complete your degree.

Master of Arts in Black Church Studies

Become a scholar, church practitioner, and competent leader in congregations and other settings within African American culture.

Master of Arts (Biblical Studies)

Engage meaningfully in biblical research and writing. Prepare for further graduate studies or be equipped to teach foundational Bible courses. 

Master of Divinity

The normative degree for ordained ministry. Be equipped for pastoral and religious leadership in your church or professional setting.

The Calling

The Calling is an online learning experience which lets you remain in your current career or ministry context all while being equipped to pursue your call.

Doctor of Ministry

As a current ministry professional, have you considered taking your theological studies to the next level? Our professional Doctor of Ministry degree program is grounded in the real work of ministry you live out each day. Through this terminal degree, you will encounter rigorous academics, a supportive community, and an invitation to go deeper still in your relationship with Christ.

Certificate Programs

Would you like to continue your theological studies in a supportive and highly relational environment? Our certificate programs provide alternatives to comprehensive degree programs. If you are looking to boost your effectiveness in ministry while deepening your dependence on Christ, our certificates offer a  solution. 

Professional Certificates are non-credit programs designed to grow you as a leader and a disciple.

 

Graduate Certificates include for-credit courses that can be transferred into a future degree.
