Forty-four graduating students rated 19/20 areas 4.0 or higher for Educational Effectiveness in Facilitating Skill Areas. Last year only 9/20 areas rated at 4.0 or higher. This is a high mark of achievement in skills for students at Ashland Theological Seminary. The standard benchmark is 4.0 (80%) for all areas. The top six areas were:

Doctor of Ministry (2019-2020)

Dissertation Approved at Defense – 81.25% candidates passed defense which includes an oral and written report. Rubric for Assessment of Written Document is 81.25% showing that candidates are doing well in the written examination of the program. Standard is 80% and the program meets the standard.

*n/a – KO2 and PS04 were not evaluated. The course that measures these two outcomes was not offered during the academic year. The program restructured courses for the cohort based on student, faculty, and supervisor input. This resulted in this course not being offered during this academic year.

Overall, this is an excellent result in Student Learning Outcomes for the program!

Counseling Preparation Comprehensive Examination (CPCE) (2019-2020)

Students are required to take a comprehensive exam at the end of the professional program. The exam is given by an independent contractor. Student pass rate for the 2019-2020 academic year was 100%. Students have the option of taking a licensure exam administered by the state of Ohio. Of the graduating
class of 2019-2020, 81% took and passed the exam. Each of these examinations review if the Student Learning Outcomes are met.

Students are also assessed through examinations within each class. The minimum requirement for continuing in the academic program is a 3.0 grade point average. Students are not able to continue if grades fall below a B- average. The program completion rate is greater than 85%.

Overall, this is an excellent rating in both areas of the program!
