This course is a theoretical, conceptual, and thematic introduction to the African diaspora in the Americas. The forced transatlantic slave trade to colonies in the Americas will be examined. Focus shall be given to the historical significance of the post -1965 immigration of Africans to the USA Americas. The course shall explore the South-North migration and African immigrant religion in the Americas and the United States in Particular. Themes to be covered include: Africa diaspora identity, religion, reverse mission, and contribution to the Americas.
